Raspberry Slime Mould no 1

Description

This close-up image shows a group of Raspberry Slime Mould (Lycogala epidendrum) on a piece of wood. The slime mould appears as a cluster of small, round, gelatinous cells with a light yellow-orange hue, resembling tiny beads or droplets. The mould is growing on the dark surface of the log, with its bright, contrasting colour standing out against the natural brown and black wood texture. The small, separate clusters of slime mould are scattered across the log, with some areas more densely packed than others. The lighting highlights the translucent, almost glowing nature of the slime, giving it a soft, wet appearance. This image beautifully captures the unique, organic shape and colour of this fascinating organism, set against the rough bark of the log.
